Creating a playable league by Rabster
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: ::::::::::::

1. Open the TCM2004 Database editor.
2. Select the country you would like to edit.
3. Everybody will do this differently but the first thing I usually do is add the stadium information.
3.1 Click on Country Setting.
3.2 Click on Grounds.
3.3 For each new stadium you'd like to add click on New
3.2 Add the Stadium Name and Town which are self-explanatory.
3.3 If you want the stadium to look like one of the original stadiums then choose one from the Real Stadium? list otherwise leave it blank.
3.4 Add your capacity for each stand and the total capacity will appear at the bottom of the page.
3.5 Lastly ensure that you have ticked a stand for Season ticket block and Away Supporters Block
3.6 Repeat step 3.3 for each new stadium you want to add. Click OK to return to main screen.
4 New teams must now be added to create the new league(s). At the time of writing the minimum number of teams that will be playable in a league is 10 so please remember this or you will have problems later.
4.1 Right click on the screen Club and choose Create a new club
4.2 You are prompted to Enter the name of the new club so add the full team name.
4.3 The new team will now appear in the team list.
4.4 Highlight the new team and click on Club Settings.
4.5 The General Information screen should be filled in to the best of your knowledge. Each section is pretty much explained and using another team from the league as a yardstick is a good way of getting accurate information. If you are still unsure of the values then ask on the forum. The initial captial and Potential Attendance values are probably the most important aspects for anyone taking charge of this team.
4.6 Click on the Badge tab.
4.6.1 For the Club Colors section choose the club colors of the team you are creating and these will be used as the menu colors for anyone who manages the team.
4.6.2 Choose a 'generic' badge by click on Determine file. Alternatively you can add your own badge, if you'd like to do this then read here.
4.7 Click on the Kit tab.
4.7.1 If you'd like to use an existing kit from another team then choose the team name from the Original kit drop down menu. If not then just leave this section.
4.7.2 Generic home and away kits can be made very easily in this screen. Play about with the slider bar values to get a kit which is close to the team you are creating and change the colors by clicking on the individual colors.
4.8 Click on the Stadium/Ground tab
4.8.1 In the Regular Ground dropdown menu choose the ground you created earlier. This will assign the ground to the team you have created.
4.8.2 In Club Grounds choose the facilites which this club should have as default.
4.8.3 The Longitude/Lattitude values can be entered if required, this site may help. The youth player should normally be from the country you are playing in although that may not always be the case. For example Wrexham's youth players are Welsh as they are a Welsh team but play in the English nationwide league.
4.8.4 The Transfers data is self-explanatory. Mostly this will be the same as the last section but there are teams who prefer to sign players from specific nationalities.
4.9 Click on the Historical data tab
4.9.1 This infomation exists for reference and statistical purposes only. If you have the information then put it in but if not then it is no problem.
4.10 Repeat from step 4.1 for each new team you wish to create.
5. Players must now be added to the teams. For a generic league with generated players skip this section and go to section 6.
5.1 Highlight the team you want to edit.
5.2 Click on Squad-List.
5.3 The first screen for all players is the General Information screen. There are 3 types you can add and these are 1st team players, reserve team players and Board members (Manager, Chairman and President). The General Information screen is the same for all but the others screen are different for the board members as they only have an abilities scren which is discussed in section 5.9.The General Information does not need any explaining. It is possible to add a 2D image for the player you are adding here by clicking on choose image- this must be a bitmap (*.bmp) image.
5.3.1Choose the type you want to add (1st team, reserves or board) bu clicking on the appropriate tab. Right-mouse click on the panel on the left hand side of the screen and choose:
New Player- to add a new player.
Get Player- to get a player from another team. You do not have to go through steps 5.4-5.9 if you do this as this information will already be present.
Transfer player and Delete player are only required if you would like to get rid of a player.
5.3.2 Whichever type you have created the general information should be inputted using information from a relevant resource.
5.4 Click on the Position tab.
5.4.1 Choose a preferred postition for the player and up to 2 alternative positions for the player.
5.5 Click on the Abilities tab.
5.5.1 Set the values which you percieve for the player.
5.6 Click on the Character tab.
5.6.1 Set the values which you percieve for the player.
5.7 Click on the Appearance tab.
5.7.1 You can set how the player will appear in 3D mode here. If the player looks similar to someone already in the game then you can set a Special Face texture for the player, otherwise build a face from the Generic face options.
5.8 Click on the Historical Data tab.
5.8.1 If you have information about the player's career then you can add it here. An important value here is the currently in the national team tick box as this will make the palyer available in national management mode.
5.9 If you are adding a board member then click on the Abilities tab.
5.9.1 The properties on this page are self-explanatory.
5.10 Repeat these steps starting with section 5.1 for each new player you want to add.
6 Make a shell league. To make a league generic there is no need to add players as the players will be generated when the game starts.
6.1 Click on Country Settings
6.2 The main screen is General Information. On the very right hand side in the Rating section tick the Generate names box if you wish to make the league a shell.
6.3 Chenge the Avg. rating of generated players to an acceptable value for the league you are creating.
7. Now that the teams and players have been created it's time to set up the league(s).
7.1 Click on Country Settings
7.2 The main screen is General Information. There is a lot of different information which can be filled in and it's all self-explanatory so does not really require an explanation here.
7.3 Click on Appearance. This screen determines how generated players will look so choose the best fit. Gerenated players will be any you have specified in a shell league and/or youth players.
7.3.1 Choose all physical appearances (face, hair style, etc.) which would best fit the league you are creating.
7.3.2 Choose an Average Height and Average Weight for the generated players.
7.4 The Youth Player and Spare Manager/Board Members screens are straight forward. In a shell league there is no need to add anything to these.
7.5 Click on the Referees Tab.
7.5.1 In this screen you can add referees. Again in a shell league there is not much point but making an original league you may want to add realistic referees.
7.6 Click on the Cup Tab. This is where you set the paramameters for domestic trophies.
7.6.1 The Cup section is where the major cup in the league is specified (e.g. In England it would be the FA Cup). The format of the cup can be specified by choosing one of the predefined cups in the Cup Mode menu and you can assign a stadium for the final in the Set stadium for the final menu.
7.6.2 The League Cup and Supercup can be set in the same way.
7.6.3 Cup Bonuses, Yellow Cards and Red Cards can be set in this screen for the cup competitions too.
7.7 Click on the League System Tab. This is where you create the leagues.
7.7.1 Choose a league structure from the League Tree menu. Remember to select a structure that is equal to the amount of teams you have created.
7.7.2 Each new league should be dispalyed now as a square box with Competetion written in it. Click on any of the boxes to edit them
7.7.2.1 Give the league a Name
7.7.2.2 Specify the number of teams that will compete in the league by changing the value for Size of League
7.7.2.3 Specify the number of times each team in the league will play against each other by providing a value for Number of Rounds.
7.7.2.4 The remaining values should be inputted and the league rules set. Refer to a similar league for these values if you wish.
7.7.2.5 For every team you create a reserve team is created too (they have (A) after the team name). If you have a league where you don't want reserve teams to compete or get promoted into it then untick the Reserve teams allowed to play in this league box.
7.7.3 Click on League Composition. Here is were you assign teams to a league.
7.7.3.1 If you are not using reserve teams in your leagues then tick the Hide Reserve teams box as it makes it easier to assign teams.
7.7.3.2 If you have a structure of more than one league then you must choose the correct league first from the Leagues box.
7.7.3.3 To assign teams to the selected league drag the team name from the Clubs section to League section. Likewise you can drag them the other way to take them out of the league.
7.7.3.4 If you's like to assign certain values to a team like promoted, Cup Finalist, etc. then right click on the team after you have dragged them to the League section and you can assign these values.
7.7.3.5 Click OK to confirm changes.
7.7.4 Click on Fixture List. This will create the match fixtures for your league.
7.7.4.1 If you have more than one league then you must select the league you want to add fixtures for in the League section.
7.7.4.2 The Match Day scroll bar allows you to set each matchday that is available and you can create the fixtures for each matchday manually by clicking on the team names in the Clubs section.
7.7.4.3 If you find this alot of work then click on Computer Generated Fixture List and these will be generated for you for the whole season.
7.7.4.4 Depending on the number of rounds and number of teams you may also have to click on 1st Leg like 2nd Leg to complete all of the computer generated fixtures.
7.7.4.5 Click on OK to confirm the new fixtures.
7.7.5 Click on Calender. This will allow you to assign the fixture list to match days.
7.7.5.1 For each league you have created you must set a matchday for each fixture. If you have alot of leagues which all have the same matchday (e.g. Matchday 1 on 20/7) then choose Matchday for all Leagues in the Edit Mode section. If not then leave it the way it is.
7.7.5.1 For each fixture you have created you must give it a matchday. Click on the space which refers to the Date you want to specify and the league you are assigning the matchday to. For each matchday you assign the matchday number should appear. Continue this until you have assigned all matchdays.
7.7.5.2 Click on OK to confirm this.
8. You have now done all that is required to create a playable league. Save your data by returning to the main menu and clicking File and then Save from the top menu. This will save the database as the default database, if you would rather save it under a different name then use the Save As option instead.
9. Finally you need to export the database to the game. Click on Write Current Database For Game to do this. A popup box should appear listing all the playable leagues that are being written. The Country you have edited should now be on that list.
10. The new league(s) should now be playable
Addtional Information-If you Write Current Database For Game and the country you have edited does not appear then ensure the following:
1. Your team has at least 10 teams (Section 7.7.3)
2. You have created all of the fixtures required (Section 7.7.4)
3. You have assigned all the matchdays required (Section 7.7.5)
